Hijacked Topshop Ad Censored

Censored version of the Topshop ad I 'hijacked'.

I had the idea to censor it after I was told to be careful about putting 'sexually explicit' content up on social networking sites. I didn't heed that warning, but it did make me wonder why women's breasts are often considered offensive or 'sexually explicit'. 

Balmain A/W 2012

Balmain's collection for A/W 12 has the most stunning and intricate embroidery I've seen in a long time, rivaled only by Dolce and Gabbana this season. Although, I am not sure you can compare the two. Just stunning.

Grace Sheldrick

This is the beautiful and unique work of Grace Sheldrick. She is an embroiderer I met at the Royal School Of Needlework while I was doing the Georg Jensen commission.

She says of her work: "My work is all about Colour, Gold and Beauty. I have fallen in love with goldwork  embroidery, the way in which it can be so overwhelming you don’t know where to look first or as simple as a single goldwork swirl."

I am a big fan Vik Muniz. I first encountered his work while I was researching my dissertation at University, and he had a significant impact on the development of my own practice.
